About TY

The Yachtswoman is a coastal journal of life afloat.

I live aboard Sol y Luna, a 35-foot powerboat in Santa Barbara Harbor, where mornings begin with coffee on deck and the gentle movement of the water just beyond the marina.

What started as a change in lifestyle became something more — a slower, more intentional way of living shaped by light, simplicity, and small daily rituals.

Here, I write about harbor life, the beauty of small spaces, simple meals from the galley, and the quiet luxury of creating a life that feels both expansive and deeply personal.

The Yachtswoman was inspired through my experiences of living on the East, Gulf, and Pacific coasts along with island travel to Hawaii and the Caribbean. Having grown up with a 15 foot Boston Whaler I took the leap and bought a 35 foot Meridian Motor Yacht. Her name is Sol Y Luna and her port is Santa Barbara Harbor in California. The learning of the ropes has been great yet inspirational. I wish to encourage, inspire, and create a supportive environment helping more women to take the helm in life. There is a great appreciation for the equalizing impact the ocean has on each of us.
